The second leg of FIDE women Grand Prix 2015-16 is being held in Tehran, Iran. India's top two players Humpy Koneru and Harika Dronavalli are out there looking to win some crucial Grand Prix points. The National Teams Championship kicked off here at Bhubaneshwar with top organisations like PSPB and Railways sending strong teams in order to win this thirty-sixth edition. There are two sections -- Open and Women. The Open has eleven grandmasters and seventeen International Masters, meanwhile the Women's section has four International Masters and three Women Grand Masters and is being conducted at the KIIT law College in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa. Sethuraman was the best performer finishing fourth, while Harikrishna settled for fifth. Chess, entertainment, happiness -- the players and parents of the juniors at the IIFL Wealth Mumbai International and Junior Tournament are having a gala time as the event approaches its final leg. The Junior tournament has a handful of leaders, with no clarity on how the tournament will end while the Open saw G.A. Stany taking the lead by beating Shardul Gagare, but then losing to Swapnil Dhopade to allow him and Himal Gusain to share the lead with 6.5/7. An illustrated report.

Harikrishna played the London System against Vidit Gujrathi and was able to subdue him with some nice attacking moves. With this win, Hari moves into the leaders pack with 6.5/8. Sethuraman and Abhijeet Gupta follow him on six points. The reason why today can be a big day for chess in India is that Harikrishna has a chance to overtake Anand on the live Elo rating list.
