After 4 Rounds at the World Youth Chess Championship 2026, India's IM Goutham Krishna H and WFM Pratitee Bordoloi are leading in their respective groups with a perfect 4/4. In the U-16 Open section, IM Goutham Krishna H defeated FM Nikita Nechitaylo in the 4th round. This win helped Goutham to gain the sole lead in his group. The FIDE World Team Rapid Chess Championship 2026 opened with thrilling action and major upsets at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hong Kong. Out of all the competing powerhouses, only Kazchess and Dragon Chilling survived Day 1 undefeated, leading the pack with a perfect 8/8 match points after four intense rounds. M Soham Kamotra holds GM Iniyan P to a draw in the 6th round of the 360 One Masters Chess Tournament. Speaking after the game, Soham revealed that he went out of his preparation early and played 6.Nc3, a move he felt created problems for him later in the opening. He believed he was worse from the start and even thought he might be losing at certain stages of the game. Iniyan is still leading the event after this draw.
