However, for the second consecutive year, Havelock City Mall in Colombo is redefining that norm by bringing competitive chess into one of Sri Lanka's busiest public spaces. The Havelock City Mall Checkmate 2026 Chess Fiesta will take place on 20th and 21st June 2026, continuing an innovative initiative that aims to make chess more visible, accessible, and engaging for the general public.
